Capt. Elias Nikolaidis is partner of Air Consulting in charge of Aviation Safety.
He is an independent evaluator consulting in regulatory flight operations, accident investigation, analysis and corrective action design and implementation. He is also involved in consulting in transportation systems, flight operations and technical matters.
Elias holds an MSc in Aerospace Design, Manufacture and Management, from Bristol University (UK).
After obtaining his UK CAA’s CPL/IR from Oxford Air Training School, and his Hellenic CAA ATPL he started his aviation carrier at Olympic Airways and later Olympic Airlines where he flew various jet a/c types. He was also a training captain (TRI) and a check airman (TRE). During his airline career he served in many management positions within Flight and Ground Safety, Security, Accident Investigation, Training Development, Training, Quality and Quality Auditing. He participated in many accident and incident investigations and project teams such as the transition from the national to the European Aviation Legislation.
He was also successfully trained, as a Flight Operations Inspector by the UK CAA, for Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority.
Since 2004 Elias acts as an independent consultant.
He is involved in accident investigation for the Hellenic Accident Investigation and Safety Board, the independent accident and incident investigation body in Greece.
He holds a GTI (ground theoretical instructor) and SFI (synthetic flight instructor) authorization for the B-737-200, 300, 400, 500
He is also affiliated to SH&E one of the Audit Organisations for IATA’s IOSA programme and he participated in the Aerosvit Ukrainian Airlines, Cirrus Airlines, Eurowings, Jordan Aviation Airlines, LAM Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique, Middle East Airlines, Saudi Arabian Airlines , Royal Air Maroc, TAME Airline of Ecuador , Yemenia Yemen Airways, audit teams.
He is consulting airlines in the areas of quality, flight safety and training.
His current list of customers are Aeroland, Air Intersalonica , Airlift , Air Sea Lines, Ethiopian Airlines, Euroair , Olympic Airways Training Center
He was a member of Helios accident investigation team , which crashed 14th August 2005 near Athens, Greece and Consultant to the committee investigating the responsibilities, after the Helios accident , which was formed by the Minister’s Council of the Cypriot Government.
Elias has presented many papers in international conferences. His area of research is the human factors influence in flight safety.
