Philip Nielsen is a founding member & partner of Air Consulting in charge of E- Aviation. Following his degree in Media Communication, Philip completed postgraduate studies in Marketing Strategy at Bristol University, England and worked in London as a European Market Analyst for the Japanese Cores as well as in Advertising for JWT Worldwide. Today he is the Managing Director & principal shareholder (together with Unisystem Group) of CREATIVE MARKETING S.A., a Company that specializes in web site development, since 1996. Creative Marketing has major clients (ranging from multinationals to large Greek companies listed on the Athens Stock Exchange) from a variety of segments: Financial – Tourism / Travel / Leisure – Consumer and High Technology. Creative Marketing worked for 3 years on the official Athens 2004 Olympic Games web site, for which it achieved world wide distinctions, (Philip was invited to present the successful work accomplished in Beijing for the Organising committee of the 2008 Olympic Games). During its 10-year existence the company has won many awards for its design and functionality; although not a programmer himself, Philip was actively involved in the development of the unique & successful Osmium WCMS software. Philip is also co-founder of the "yourGreece LTD" Network of Great Small Hotels of Greece, a very successful virtual venture representing 82 unique establishment all over Greece, through the web. The company in just 3 years of existence has managed to triple its online bookings every year.
In 2005 Philip conducted a research study, which evaluated 43 official National European web sites based on more than 70 criteria within 6 areas: content, usability, search engine optimization, marketing, design and technical aspects. This initiative helped to establish GEM (The Global eTourism Monitor), a unique service evaluating Official Country, Region and City Internet web sites from all over the world. This service is under the consideration of both the UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization) and the ETC (European Travel Commission).
Philip has a small academic career as a Lecturer for the Hellenic Management Association, where among other things, he designed and directed a new Programme for Internet Tourism Marketing. He is actively engaged in new Marketing & Interactive techniques for air transport as well as in Internet tourism research, especially focusing on issues related to competition, new pricing models, differentiating corporate strategy. Some of his work has been published in specialized Business press as he freelances as a Travel writer and Scientific Advisor on Internet Travel Marketing topics for specialized publications.
Furthermore, Philip is a Certified Consultant and Trainer for Agrotourism SA for small rural establishments, as well an Advisor & Trainer of the Hellenic Management Association for "Internet Marketing in the Tourism sector". He has significant experience concerning Winter Tourism acting as a Consultant to Companies that provide Alpine skiing services.
He is an active member of: UNWTO (World Tourism Organization), SETE (Federation of Greek Tourism Enterprizes), SEPE (Federation of Greek IT Companies) EEDE (Hellenic Management Association), ESOMAR (European Society of Marketing Research), EIM (Greek Marketing Institute).
Philip participates in international fora & exhibitions in Europe and the United States of America, (WTM, Travel Technology Show, IBT, WTO, Nielsen Norman web site Usability Seminars, CA the future of online Portals etc), and enjoys private traveling in Europe, USA & Asia. Philip was born in Copenhagen in 1964 and speaks four languages (English, Greek, Danish and French). He is a keen alpine skier - for at least the last 35 years - and also attended BASI courses (British Association of Ski Instructors). Furthermore he is seriously involved in amateur outdoor digital landscape photography. Philip now lives in his farm, on the outskirts of Athens, with his wife, two children and their animals. |
