Pavlos Arvanitis is a partner of Air Consulting in Aviation Strategy and Planning. He has taught at Bedford College, Bedford, UK as a Lecturer in Travel and Tourism for over three years. Prior to that, he was a researcher at Cranfield University, Air Transport Group, on Air Transport Liberalisation in Europe and its impacts on Tourism. He has and still is engaged with a number of EU funded projects like D.E.A.R. (Developing the Economies of Airport Regions), RAIRDev (Regional Airport Interaction for Regional Development) and E.CO.S.E.R.T. (European Co-operation for Sustainable Environmental Regional development through Tourism) as a project manager and analyst. Before moving to the UK he was the sales executive of Alpi Eages SpA, the Venice-based carrier, in Athens, Greece.
Pavlos graduated from Bournemouth University, UK in 2000 with an MSc in Tourism Management and Planning. His Bachelors degree is in Tourism Business Administration. He has successfully attended I.A.T.A. training and he has participated in a number of conferences on Tourism Development as well as Aviation Strategy and Deregulation. Some of his work has been presented at conferences and internationally recognised academic journals. His MSc thesis has received a prize by the Athens Rotary Club. His research interests include Airline Impact Analysis, Airport Impact Analysis, Business Plans, Deregulation, Route Planning, Tourism Development and Tourism Planning. He is a founding member of the Hellenic Aviation Society and a member of the Association of European Transport.
Pavlos speaks fluently Greek and English and basic Dutch and German. He enjoys spending time outdoors hiking in the woods or sailing in the sea. |
